Veterinary Technician (Full-Time) – Oviedo, FL
We are a growing veterinary hospital in Oviedo, Florida seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position ideal for someone who enjoys both clinical veterinary work and patient care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
About the Role
This position supports both medical and surgical cases in a general practice setting, while also assisting with boarding patient care when needed. The ideal candidate is confident with hands-on patient handling, passionate about animal care, and eager to grow within a veterinary hospital.
Schedule includes weekends when need it.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Perform patient restraint and handling for a variety of medical procedures
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
- Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor anesthesia and support surgical procedures when needed
- Provide inpatient care and monitoring of hospitalized patients
- Support boarding patient care including feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring when required
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Communicate professionally with team members and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting
- Strong animal handling skills (dogs and cats of all sizes)
- Ability to follow medical instructions accurately and efficiently
- Experience with basic laboratory work and patient care procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Compassionate attitude toward animals and clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician certification (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred but not required
- Experience in surgery and anesthesia monitoring
- Experience in both clinical and boarding environments
- Fear-Free or low-stress handling certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Desire for long-term growth within a veterinary practice
