Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other vehicle components
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, suspension, brakes, steering, and alignment
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems accurately
- Repair or replace faulty components utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and diesel engine repairs
- Conduct wheel alignments and calibrations for ADAS systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Document all repairs thoroughly for auto estimating purposes and maintain detailed service records
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive service technician background in automotive repair
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostics tools
- Hands-on experience with GM vehicles or similar makes preferred
- Proficiency in working with powertrain components including transmissions and diesel engines
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Excellent mechanical knowledge coupled with a customer-focused attitude
- Prior experience with vehicle maintenance procedures such as alignments and ADAS calibration is a plus
- Valid automotive service technician certification or equivalent experience required
