Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Plumber or experienced apprentice (minimum three years) to join our team. We primarily work on Nantucket Island focusing on new residential high end construction. All ferry travel and parking costs will be covered by CJ Mulvey Plumbing and Heating, INC. FOUR DAY WORK WEEK.6am-5pm. 44 hours per week. Optional additional overtime if desired, not required. Two weeks paid vacation after 6 months of employment. Health insurance available after 3 months of employment. Company match retirement program. Year end performance based bonus.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in plumbing and construction, demonstrating proficiency in various plumbing techniques and tools. This role involves working on diverse projects, including residential and commercial plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance. The Journeyman Plumber will be responsible for ensuring that all plumbing systems are installed and maintained according to industry standards and local codes.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively to complete plumbing tasks.
- Perform pipe threading, assembly, and installation of fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on plumbing systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure timely project completion while adhering to safety regulations.
- Provide field service support for emergency plumbing issues as needed.
- Engage in heavy lifting as required for various installations and repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction plumbing with a strong understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment relevant to plumbing tasks.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Previous construction site experience is required.
- Experience in carpentry, remodeling, or maintenance person services is beneficial.
