Director of Business Development - Commercial Construction - Base Salary to 100k/year - Tallahassee, FL

Our client is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in commercial renovation and construction projects three stories and under. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive business development while recruiting, coaching, and leading a high-performing Outside Sales team. This individual will be responsible for personal sales production while developing a culture of accountability, performance, and revenue growth throughout Florida.
Responsibilities:

Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop Outside Sales Representatives

Lead business development efforts by generating new commercial construction and renovation opportunities

Maintain an active book of business through consultative B2B sales and relationship management

Coach sales representatives through ride-alongs, one-on-one meetings, pipeline reviews, field training, and sales strategy sessions

Develop a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, professionalism, continuous improvement, and revenue growth

Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching to improve prospecting, closing, and sales effectiveness

Establish individual and team sales goals while monitoring KPIs, sales metrics, forecasting, and pipeline management

Hold team members accountable for prospecting activity, CRM utilization, follow-up, opportunity management, and revenue generation

Lead weekly sales meetings focused on forecasting, pipeline reviews, commercial project opportunities, and professional development

Develop training programs covering consultative selling, negotiations, objection handling, relationship selling, and closing strategies

Support team members during large commercial opportunities, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations

Collaborate with Estimating, Operations, and Project Management to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction

Provide market intelligence, sales forecasting, and growth recommendations to executive leadership
Qualifications:

7+ years of successful B2B sales experience

3+ years leading, coaching, recruiting, hiring, training, and developing sales teams
-
Demonstrated success selling commercial construction, commercial renovation, facilities services, capital improvement projects, or similar B2B solutions

Proven history of consistently exceeding sales goals and revenue targets

Strong consultative selling experience with complex, relationship-driven commercial projects

Experience selling to executive-level decision makers including owners, property managers, facility managers, and commercial clients

Strong leadership, communication, coaching, presentation, negotiation, and business development skills

Experience utilizing CRM systems, sales pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting

Working knowledge of construction estimating, commercial renovation projects, scopes of work, proposals, and project lifecycle

Ability to travel throughout Florida and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, in accordance with company requirements.

Base salary to 100k/year plus uncapped commission structure
