About the Setting
Highpoint at Fort Mill is a welcoming senior living community serving residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. This setting offers a rewarding variety of clinical experiences while allowing you to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with your patients.
You'll primarily work with adults and older adults experiencing:
- Parkinson's disease
- Dementia and Alzheimer's disease
- Cognitive-communication disorders
- Dysphagia and swallowing disorders
- Stroke and other neurological conditions
- Voice and speech disorders
- General functional decline related to aging
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide evidence-based treatment for communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Educate residents, caregivers, and staff
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Complete timely and accurate documentation
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations preferred
- Experience treating dysphagia and cognitive disorders
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
