Position Summary:
Apex Facility Services is seeking a skilled and reliable General Tradesman with strong mechanical expertise in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across commercial and/or residential facilities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a solid technical background and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Install, maintain, and repair fixtures, piping, wiring, and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance calls as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and other team members to complete projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical trades, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
- Technical certification or relevant trade license preferred (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license, or plumbing certification).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] and work in various environments (indoors/outdoors, confined spaces, heights).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in commercial facility maintenance.
- Familiarity with work order systems or maintenance tracking software.
