Duties
- Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and classroom management strategies to support children’s individual needs.
- Engage in child development instruction by observing, assessing, and documenting each child's progress to tailor activities accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about their child's growth, milestones, and any concerns.
- Incorporate specialized knowledge in areas such as special education, early intervention, Montessori methods, or preschool teaching to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure the safety of all children by adhering to first aid and CPR protocols.
- Utilize classroom experience to facilitate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and physical development.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing when appropriate to monitor developmental progress and inform instruction.
- Support children’s welfare by creating inclusive activities that respect diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or Montessori training are a plus.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations in educational environments.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is advantageous.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and hands-on activities for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Knowledge of childhood development assessments and standardized testing procedures is preferred.
