Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Washington Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- ESA certificate (must be verified and present at submission)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated skills supporting transition-aged students (18-22)
- Commitment to fostering independence and growth in young adults
- Effective communication and collaboration with students, colleagues, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored for a transition classroom
- Provide direct instruction and support in academic, vocational, and life skills
- Collaborate with related service providers, school staff, and families
- Document student progress; maintain compliance with IEPs and state standards
- Foster an engaging, supportive classroom environment that promotes self-advocacy and independence
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training
- Coordinate and communicate consistently to ensure a smooth and meaningful educational experience for every student
