Special Education Teacher (K–5)

Wyatt Academy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in our K–5 charter school community. Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction, develops and manages IEPs, and collaborates with staff and families to ensure students receive high-quality support aligned with their individualized goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEP goals and service minutes
- Develop, write, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings with families and staff
- Monitor and report student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations and modifications
- Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments
- Maintain required documentation and compliance deadlines
- Support testing accommodations and evaluation processes
- Partner with the Special Education and MTSS teams to support student interventions
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage documentation and compliance deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience in charter schools
- Familiarity with DPS Special Education systems
- Completion of READ Act training

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per hour
