Manager Trainee
Summary: Supports assigned store(s) by learning how to lead a team, developing talent and managing to goals
Reports to: Store Manager
Supervises: CSRs and Pawnbrokers
Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Accountable for daily operations of assigned store(s), as well as individual goals, tasks and professional development activities; personally stays up to date on product knowledge
- Works closely with Store Manager to achieve goals, manage financial metrics, recruit and train talent
- Begins at Day One of a new hire’s employment to instill the company’s mission, vision and values
- Clearly articulates store goals and profit targets, explains incentive plans, and supports new hires in achieving their training goals
- Encourages behavior that supports store profit goals
- Ensures that those hired are properly onboarded and receive quick and efficient training to prepare them for working on their own
- Monitors loan qualification and “buy” processes to ensure value and viability of all loans issued
- Leads and supports efforts to optimize customer relations and customer satisfaction
- Seeks out new ways to drive new customer acquisition
- Actively participates in marketing the store(s)
- Promotes the store using internal and external marketing tools
- Develops and trains CSRs and Pawn Brokers on multiple programs such as sales techniques, customer service skills, dealing with difficult people, technical skills related to the role, preparation to move into higher level roles, and what to do when there are lulls in customer traffic (i.e. clean, organize, improve efficiency, look for ways to market and drive traffic, make the store more attractive, etc.)
- Fosters a positive attitude, an environment that is welcoming to customers and pride in the work
- Engages customers in a friendly and professional manner; promptly addresses any customer issues
- Focuses on safety, quality improvement, and operational goals
- Aligns individual roles with the strategies and goals of the company as a whole
- Ensures that the proper steps are taken to achieve Store goals
- Demonstrates commitment to asset protection through inventory control, proper safety procedures, documentation, and securing customers’ loans
- Analyzes store financial and statistical reports to identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies and errors
- Coordinates, supervises or performs inventory, loan management, merchandizing, store presentation of merchandise; ensures these things are done routinely and in a timely manner
- Ensures all personnel are reminded of systems and procedures when necessary, and continually receive communication as changes and updates are made
- Prepares data and reports as assigned or requested
- Makes suggestions for improvements to quality, safety, security, efficiency and operational processes
- Demonstrates initiative by seeking out additional work whenever possible
- Steps into Manager on Duty (MOD) role in the absence of the Store Manager or when the Store Manager is otherwise engaged and the need is immediate Demonstrates supportive and professional attitude toward all personnel in all locations
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 18 years of age
· 2+ years’ supervising a team
· 2+ years’ experience handling cash transactions
· Customer service focus, attention to detail, and analytical skills
· Knowledge of jewelry highly beneficial
· Strong written and spoken communication skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Excellent work ethic and strong knowledge of business
· Office or retail experience
· Proficiency with basic computer programs, ability to learn new software/technology
