Member Duties : VISTA will work with NyECC and the community in and around Pahrump, local stakeholders, hunger relief advocates, and community groups to increase nutrition access, education, and food insecurity. VISTA will work with local food pantries to develop programs to increase volunteerism, create new systems for tracking, development, and training within the pantries. VISTA will work with stakeholders to develop a marketing strategy that will increase capacity and distribution of healthy foods, as well as bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity. VISTA will work with food pantry managers to create a volunteer management program/material that will be used within food pantries to increase capacity for volunteers as well as distribution. The mission at NyECC is to grow healthy organizations, people and environments across Nye, Esmeralda and Lincoln by joining together individuals, organizations, and agencies in a cooperative and collaborative effort to increase services and opportunities.
