Temporary Veterinary Receptionist (Expected Duration: 6–8 Months)
Norco Animal Hospital is seeking a professional, career-minded Temporary Veterinary Receptionist who is growth-oriented and passionate about providing exceptional client service. We have a large and expanding client and doctor network, resulting in a diverse, challenging, and rewarding caseload.
This is a temporary position that is currently expected to last approximately six (6) to eight (8) months. The actual duration may be shorter or longer depending on business needs. This temporary assignment does not guarantee employment for any specific period of time, and employment remains at will in accordance with applicable California law.

Requirements
- Must be available to work Thursday-Sunday and have flexible availability during the week.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to professionally handle client concerns and complaints.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and coworkers, both in person and over the phone.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Proficient with email.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Minimum of one (1) year of veterinary experience, veterinary training, or related work in the veterinary field.

- Allergies to animals must be controllable through medication if necessary.
- Ability to stand for up to ten (10) hours per shift.
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize individuals, and read written materials.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and by telephone.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist clients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
- Answer multi-line telephones.
- Assist clients during check-in and check-out.
- Verify and update client, patient, and vaccination information.
- Schedule appointments for examinations, procedures, surgeries, boarding, grooming, and medication refill requests.
- Make boarding reservations.
- Process patient admissions and discharges for examinations, surgeries, boarding, grooming, and other services.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and prepare deposits.
- Complete daily checklists and assigned administrative tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and lobby area.
- Assist with shift coverage as requested by management, including evenings, weekends, and overtime when needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Demonstrate a client-focused approach in every interaction.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Gmail, and Google Docs proficiently.
