Family Physician – Outpatient Primary Care

Compensation: $220,147 – $316,161 (based on experience) + productivity‑based incentive program
Overview
A full‑time Family Medicine Physician is needed to join an established outpatient practice in the upper Hudson Valley region of Upstate New York. The area offers year‑round outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, and a high quality of life—just two hours north of New York City and 45 minutes south of Albany.

Position Summary
The incoming physician will join a supportive primary care group with three physicians, two nurse practitioners, and additional clinical staff. This outpatient-only role offers flexible scheduling, manageable patient volume, and dedicated administrative time that can be completed from home.
Practice Details
- Setting: Outpatient only
- Team: Three physicians, two NPs, one PA, plus support staff
- Patient Volume: 70–80 patients per week (initial volume lower for new patients)
- Schedule: Negotiable
- Call: ~1:8, phone call only
- Rounding: None
- Administrative Time: 80% clinical / 20% administrative (remote option)
- Start Date: Flexible
- Reason for Recruitment: Physician relocating
- EHR: eClinicalWorks (ambulatory) + Meditech (hospital)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages
- Perform physical exams; diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate specialty referrals
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs
- Deliver preventive care, health education, and chronic disease management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
- Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, and support staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice development
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
- Active or eligible New York State medical license
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Commitment to patient‑centered, evidence‑based care
- Outpatient primary care experience preferred
