Join our dynamic team as a Cabinet Painter/Finisher and bring expert craftsmanship to life through meticulous finishing of custom cabinetry. In this role, you will transform raw wood and materials into stunning, high-quality finished products that meet precise specifications. Your dedication to detail, safety, and efficiency will contribute to delivering exceptional results for our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on excellence in custom cabinetry projects.
We work 4 (10hr) days with overtime as needed, paid vacation, paid sick time and holidays. Compensation will be based on experience.
Duties
- Applying high quality finishes (paints & stains) using skilled techniques such as staining, spray painting, sealing, and varnishing to cabinetry surfaces to achieve desired aesthetic and protective qualities- this is not a production line
- Sand, buff, and smooth surfaces to ensure flawless finishes that meet quality standards
- Inspect completed work for imperfections or defects and perform touch-ups or corrections as needed
- Operate and help maintain hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment safely and efficiently for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools, disposing of waste materials, and adhering to safety protocols at all times
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 2 years proven experience
- Proven experience in applying wood finishes
- Attention to detail and pride in your work
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as sanders, brushes, scrapers, caulking guns, as well as power tools including spray guns and orbital sanders
- Understand liquid measurements
- Ability to work safely in various environments including job sites, paint booths and manufacturing settings
- Ability to lift heavy materials exceeding 50 to 80 lbs repeatedly in a non-climate controlled environment
- Perform physically demanding tasks with stamina, precision and care
- Knowledge of touch up techniques on various materials and finishes.
- Experience in custom color mixing.
- Experience in brush, spray or hand applied finishes (primer, paint, stain, oil, lacquers, sealers, toners and other) welcomed
- Working with custom stains is a plus (toning/shading, glazing, wire brushing, bleaching, high gloss polyester)
- Applicants must be able to handle all aspects of finishing: sanding, prep work, spraying of primer, clear & pigmented lacquers and handle maintenance of spray booth and equipment.
