The Main Security Officer is accountable to ensure the safety and security of the client's Associates, facilities, and equipment within his/her area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess High School diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of Security and Supervisory experience
- Valid Drivers License preferred or the ability to obtain a valid Drivers License within six months of hire date
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers/Guards
- Possess effective written and oral communication skills to accurately maintain completed logs and reports
- Ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional manner
- Possess intermediate computer skills
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and on uneven terrain
- Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
- Ability to follow established security protocols, while using initiative and good judgement
Responsibilities (not all-inclusive):
- Ensure familiarity with and comply with Genric & client policies and procedures.
- Ensure possession of the necessary equipment to perform role.
- Sign out all equipment as needed when leaving the office and sign it back in upon return to the office.
- Ensure adherence to State, Local laws and Genric’s Driving Standards Policy.
- Complete vehicle inspection forms prior to and upon completion of shift with Supervisor. (If applicable)
- Immediately report any issues or damage to the vehicle signed out.
- Ensure all Time Sheets are accurately completed.
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and legible manner.
- Ensure all Genric Log sheets are completed correctly and any issues resolved.
- Sign in Guests and Visitors and making contact for escort.
- Assist with sorting and filing of daily paperwork.
- Cover breaks of the Receptionist.
- Answer telephone calls and place calls.
- Report and document Simplex and FMS alarms. (Site Specific)
- Dispatching for various needs (Locker unlock, Vehicle assist, Access Control, Etc)
- Record Hand Deliveries.
- Conduct basic data entry and recording activities.
- Document and transfer Emergency Phone Calls.
- Take Associate Call Offs.
- Take Genric Security Call Offs.
- Back up to Command Center for Emergencies
- Issue confined Space numbers.
- Issue Hot Work Permit numbers.
- Complete tests of equipment.
- Perform daily checks to account for equipment and Lost & Found.
- Daily review of Emergency forms and procedures.
- Possess basic knowledge of mail forms.
- Keep a clean work area.
- Monitor Cameras/video
- Validate Associates, Visitors, and Contractors.
- Access Control of Doors and Gates for the Facility.
- Issue and return Pool Cars.
- Monitor and report weather in times of possible severe conditions.
- Call Snow Crew when requested. (Command centers)
- Understand the forms and uses of forms in the Security Office
- Dispatch for new vehicle deliveries after the Service Center is closed.
- Respond to any and all alarms as directed.
- Be alert for any unauthorized or restricted persons attempting to gain access.
- Assist, as directed by the Shift Supervisor, Guard Force Lead or client's Emergency Services in the event of an emergency situation.
- Suggest and implement any improvements in procedures.
- Report equipment deficiencies or potential improvements to the Shift Supervisor or Guard Force Lead.
- Possess knowledge of all positions at location.
- Perform plant key rounds and perimeter rounds as per procedure.
- Be alert for anything out of the ordinary.
- Report any possible safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Carry out other instructions as required.
- Be available to cover open shifts when needed.
