Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician specializing in collision repair, rustwork, and restoration to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their optimal condition by performing precise repairs, bodywork, and refinishing. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle not only looks great but also meets safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of vehicles, utilizing advanced techniques and tools to deliver exceptional results.
Duties
- Repair and restore vehicle bodies following collision damage, including panel replacement, dent removal, and alignment adjustments.
- Perform rust repairs and corrosion treatments to extend vehicle lifespan and maintain structural integrity.
- Use MIG welding, soldering, and other welding techniques to join sheet metal components securely.
- Fabricate custom parts or panels using sheet metal working skills to match original specifications.
- Apply auto paint using airless spray guns or other painting equipment, ensuring a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Replace or repair auto glass and perform detailing to enhance vehicle appearance and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently for various repair tasks while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in auto body repair, collision work, or automotive restoration; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical principles.
- Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, and the use of various power tools required for bodywork and rust repair.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, auto painting techniques including airless paint spraying, and auto glass replacement.
- Experience with auto body assembly, detailing, auto painting, and auto restoration projects is highly desirable.
