Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by preparing high-quality ingredients and assisting in the overall food preparation process. Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop ingredients for various dishes according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in the cooking process by following instructions from chefs and ensuring timely preparation of meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper food handling techniques at all times.
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
- Participate in catering events as needed, helping to prepare large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment as well as attention to detail.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new cooking techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
