Milne is on the lookout for an energetic, reliable, and passionate Recreation Assistant to join our dynamic team in Covington! If you love bringing people together and creating memorable experiences, this is your chance to shine.
In this full-time role, you’ll play a key part in planning, organizing, and leading engaging group activities and exciting special events that make a real impact in the community. Every day brings something new—from coordinating programs to helping participants have fun, stay active, and connect.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting weekend recreational activities for clients residing in the home
- Support daily recreational programming, including special events, outings, fitness activities, socials, and holiday celebrations
- Document client attendance and responses to activities
- Assist in coaching and training clients for Special Olympics and other special events
- Implement individual programs and document daily progress as assigned by the Recreation Therapist
- Build meaningful relationships with individuals to foster a sense of security and belonging
- Participate in activities such as arts & crafts, leisure classes, and group events with assigned clients
- Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and programming
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree in a related field (Art, Music, Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation) OR experience in a recreational, classroom, or day habilitation setting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead group activities and interact compassionately with individuals
- Flexibility to work varied hours and attend off-campus events
