ATC Ambulance is seeking compassionate, professional, and dependable Paramedics to join our growing team serving our nation's veterans throughout the Togus VA Medical Center service area. As a member of our clinical team, you will provide safe, high-quality ambulance transportation for Veterans traveling to and from VA medical facilities, hospitals, specialty appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other approved destinations.

Position Summary
The Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced life support (ALS) and emergency medical care during scheduled and unscheduled ambulance transports. This position requires excellent clinical judgment, exceptional customer service, and the ability to work independently while representing ATC Ambulance in a professional manner.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) care in accordance with Maine EMS protocols.
- Safely transport Veterans between VA facilities, hospitals, nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and residences.
- Assess, monitor, treat, and document patient conditions throughout transport.
- Administer medications and perform advanced airway management as authorized by Maine EMS protocols.
- Complete accurate electronic patient care reports (ePCRs) and required VA documentation.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, healthcare facilities, and receiving providers.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure ambulance readiness.
- Maintain inventory of medications and medical equipment.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect toward Veterans, families, and healthcare partners.
- Follow all ATC Ambulance policies, HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and infection control procedures.
- Participate in continuing education and required training.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Current Maine Paramedic License (or ability to obtain reciprocity prior to employment)
- National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass drug screening and any VA-required credentialing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift, move, and transport patients safely (up to 125 lbs independently and more with assistance)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous 911 or interfacility transport experience
- VA or federal healthcare experience
- Critical Care Transport experience is a plus
- Experience with electronic patient care reporting systems
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull patients and equipment
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach
- Work in all weather conditions
- Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Safely operate emergency vehicles

Pay: $27.26 - $32.83 per hour
