Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Caregiver to provide comprehensive personal and medical support to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, with experience working in various settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their safety and comfort while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as required.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Support residents during medical appointments or outings by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safety throughout transfers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and assisting with laundry.
- Provide emotional support through compassionate communication, engaging residents in meaningful activities that promote mental well-being.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient monitoring practices is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorders, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication management, first aid, CPR certification, and manual handling techniques is required.
- Background in geriatrics, hospice care, or memory care will enhance your ability to deliver specialized support.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members while adhering to HIPAA standards is critical for success in this role.
