We’re seeking a BI Developer & Analyst to join our Strategic Development & Supply Chain teams!
This role will support the Strategic Development and Supply Chain teams through technical report development, data modeling, and analytical insights. The BI Developer & Analyst is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing reporting used across the organization, with a focus on sales, inventory, metadata, and operational data that informs strategic decision‑making.
As the BI Developer & Analyst, you will also collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Contracts, and Publicity to understand business needs and translate them into scalable reporting solutions. You will combine technical development skills with analytical thinking to improve reporting accuracy, uncover trends, and support long‑term planning across the business.
This position offers hands‑on experience applying BI development, data analytics, and reporting methodologies within the publishing industry.
What You’ll Be Doing

Understand the data pipeline and data lake structure to make information accessible for reporting and analysis

Partner with the data engineering team to unlock new data flows and improve data availability

Build Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations from the ground up based on evolving business needs

Work with end users to refine report usability, filtering, and visualization quality

Troubleshoot report performance issues, including load times and data refresh problems

Analyze sales, inventory, and operational data to identify trends and actionable insights

Maintain and distribute recurring reports used by leadership and cross‑functional teams

Perform routine data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy across systems

Support data modeling and analytical projects that inform strategic planning and forecasting

Produce ad hoc reporting for business reviews, performance analysis, and strategic initiatives

Contribute analytical insights that communicate performance, trends, and opportunities

Support special projects involving large datasets and cross‑departmental analysis

Maintain organized datasets, documentation, and reporting tools used across departments
We’re Looking for Someone Who Has
-
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field

Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear insights

Excellent organizational and time‑management skills

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Highly Preferred

Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis/engineering tools

Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization best practices

Experience working with large datasets and data validation processes

Experience in publishing industry and/or ecommerce sales
This position is in New York, NY and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
