Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy education, and math in accordance with the Statewide Voluntary Preschool requirements
- Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and social interaction among preschoolers
- Manage daily classroom activities to ensure a safe and organized space conducive to learning and play
- Assess each child's developmental progress through observations and standardized testing when necessary; tailor instruction to meet individual needs
- Support children’s behavior management by applying positive reinforcement strategies and guiding social-emotional development
- Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or special education needs
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and uphold child safety protocols at all times
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is preferred but not required; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Experience teaching literacy education, math concepts, or specialized programs such as early intervention services is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and child welfare practices
- Proven ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds while maintaining a positive learning environment
- Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Previous experience in schools or daycare centers enhances your candidacy; familiarity with standardized testing processes is advantageous
