Join Our Team at Patients First Home Care
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality in-home therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Assist the OT in evaluating patients and developing rehabilitative plans of care, including periodic reevaluations as needed.
- Participate in preparing clinical and daily progress notes; submit all notes within 72 hours.
- Assist with periodic summary reports as required.
- Instruct patients and families in exercise programs and therapeutic activities to enhance physical, mental, and functional abilities.
- Guide patients in the use of selfhelp devices and therapeutic selfcare activities.
- Identify and report ineffective drug therapy, adverse reactions, allergies, significant side effects, or contraindicated medications to the OT.
- Observe and document patient activities, reactions to treatment, and any changes in condition, report findings to the OT and physician.
- Consult with the OT about outcomes of home visits and provide written physical findings.
- Instruct home health aides and family members on portions of the occupational therapy program as appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings and case conferences.
- Instruct patients in the use and care of wheelchairs, braces, splints, prosthetic devices, and orthotic equipment.
- Assist with discharge planning and contribute to Occupational Therapy Discharge Summaries.
- Confirm weekly visit schedules with the Supervisor/Clinical Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the OT.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an ACOTE accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant education program.
- Eligibility for, or successful completion of, the NBCOT entrylevel certification examination for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Must be licensed or registered as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Florida.

- CEU on Elderly Abuse, Human Trafficking and Alzheimer's/Dementia
- TB test results
- CPR Certification. Online Certifications are NOT accepted

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
