About the role
The Follow Project produces monthly book content, teaching notes, and Skool module materials. We’re seeking a careful Volunteer Content Proofer to ensure textual accuracy, clear formatting, and faithful presentation of biblical teaching before publication. This role requires regular work in Canva (required) to check designs and exported pages, plus Notion and Google Docs for tracking and collaboration. Proofreaders who serve faithfully will be credited in the book publication — an excellent portfolio-building opportunity within a nonprofit, religious/Biblical context.

- Those committed to at least 4–6 months who want hands-on experience with digital publishing tools
Responsibilities (monthly cycle)
- Proofread monthly book/workbook content, teaching notes, and Skool module text for spelling, grammar, and consistency
- Verify Scripture references against a chosen Bible translation and flag discrepancies
- Review Canva layouts and exported PDFs to ensure text matches copy and formatting is intact (Canva proficiency required)
- Log edits and QA notes in Notion or Google Docs and coordinate brief follow-ups via MailerLite as needed
Requirements (required)
- Proficient in Canva (required), Google Docs/Drive, and Notion
- Strong command of written English, spelling, and grammar
- Attentive to detail and able to follow a style guide while preserving tone
- Reliable and committed to a 4–6 month minimum volunteer term
Preferred (not required)
- Familiarity with Bible study tools (Bible Gateway, YouVersion)
- Previous proofreading or editorial experience
- Active Christian faith and alignment with The Follow Project’s Scripture-first mission
Portfolio & credit
Volunteers will be acknowledged in the book’s published credits (name listed) and may request examples/screenshots for their portfolio. We provide permission to display proofing samples and Canva exports that do not reveal unpublished content.
Time commitment
Approx. 3–6 hours per month during the content cycle. Remote and flexible.
Pay: From $1.00 per hour
