Looking to hire a FULL-TIME Medical Assistant for a reputable neurosurgical practice in the Tampa Bay area! We have FOUR locations (Tampa, St. Petersburg (2), and Bradenton). We are looking for a team player who is energetic, passionate, organized, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is primarily for our St. Petersburg location. While training you might have to travel to our different locations. This is a great opportunity for a pre-medical/nursing student looking for hands-on patient experience. Most importantly, we are fun to work with! The Medical Assistant functions under the direction of the Physician and mid-level providers.
Job duties include:
- Pulls and preps next-day patient charts. Ensures all labs, scan results, etc. are available day of visit. Passes key information to doctors/clinicians and front office in a timely manner
- Greeting and checking in patients. Make patients comfortable while waiting to see the providers
- Obtaining imaging from imaging centers and online PACS systems
- Help prepare patient charts for clinics by making sure all notes and reports are accessible to the providers
- Help with confirming patients for upcoming appointments
- Assist with scheduling patient follow up appointments and referral appointments
- Making sure the office is clean and medical supplies are stocked
- Providing care for patients under the physician's direction including preparing patients for exams, assisting during treatments
- Helping the doctor complete medical notes
- Answering patient questions and phone calls
- Help to prepare prescriptions
- Facilitating patient follow-up, post-op x-rays, and home health care
- Rooming patients, cleaning rooms in between patients, and taking vital signs
- Scanning medical records and documents into the patient charts
- Entering billing codes in patient charts
- Demonstrating competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Willing to learn and grow
- Communicates effectively with staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Demonstrates knowledge of office medical equipment and assists doctor/advanced practitioner.
- Keeps inventory of medical supplies and alerts practice manager when stocks are low.
- Competent in basic patient work-up for examination.
- Perform clerical front desk duties as needed
Hours:
FULL TIME: 5/8hr shifts MON-FRI 8:00am to 5pm – MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO BRADENTON & TAMPA OFFICE LOCATIONS.
Saint Petersburg is our main office location.
**Experience in neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedics, or pain management is a PLUS but WILLING TO TRAIN!**
