Join our dynamic veterinary care team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this role, you will assist veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the comfort and health of our diverse animal patients. Responsibilities
- Start daily appointments for DVM - take history, collect vitals, etc.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using proper fear-free techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff
- Collect and prepare samples and conduct laboratory tests for diagnosis
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines
- Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, medicating, and maintaining clean living environments for hospitalized patients
- Assisting in veterinary dental procedures
- Administer medications and injections under veterinarian supervision
- Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts with treatment progress, and document all procedures accurately
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, providing emergency assistance, and ensuring optimal patient recovery conditions
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and lab equipment
- Prior experience preferred however, motivated entry-level candidates with relevant animal care backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Animal restraint skills combined with knowledge of animal catheterization techniques for safe procedures
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team dedicated to outstanding pet care
- Surgical experience is preferred but not required
- Rate of pay is commensurate with experience
