DEPARTMENT: Lobby Lounge Afternoon Tea
JOB TITLE: Host/Hostess
REPORTS TO: Lobby Lounge Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
The Host is responsible for orchestrating the flow of service in the Afternoon Tea Lobby
Lounge while delivering a warm, refined, and memorable guest experience. This role
sets the tone for the tea service by welcoming every guest with poise, confidence, and
knowledge of the hotel and Afternoon Tea offerings, while balancing guest preferences,
server pacing, and operational needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
Greet all guests promptly and graciously, creating a sense of comfortable luxury
from arrival to departure
Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable, maintaining accurate
seating flow and timing
Coordinate seating plans with servers and leadership to ensure balanced
sections and smooth service
Accommodate guest requests when possible while prioritizing the overall
business needs
Maintain and update floor plans throughout service based on pace, covers, and
staffing
Proactively create next-day floor plans by hand using OpenTable to support
balanced sections and seamless service flow
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, servers, kitchen, and
management
Provide knowledgeable information about Afternoon Tea offerings, hotel
amenities, and special events
Monitor the lounge environment and proactively address guest concerns or
service delays
Uphold grooming, posture, and presentation standards consistent with a luxury
hotel environment
Support leadership with administrative or operational tasks as needed during service
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry trays or items weighing up to 60 lbs

- Prior customer service experience in luxury hotels or high-end hospitality environments
- Proficiency with OpenTable and floor plan management
Experience managing reservations, guest flow, and high-volume services preferred
