Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will oversee the repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of a wide range of gas or diesel vehicles. Your expertise will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability across our fleet and equipment assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead by example, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to the seamless functioning of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate complex repairs and preventative maintenance on gas or diesel vehicles such as cars, SUV's, or trucks.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and perform repairs with precision.
- Oversee the maintenance of diesel / gas engines, transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts, brakes, and HVAC systems on various vehicles.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment to execute repairs efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot issues accurately.
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards including air brake systems, alignment procedures, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a vehicle Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or commercial background preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy truck or car repair, automotive diagnostics, diesel / gas mechanics.
- Hands-on experience with trucks, cars, or SUV's
- Ability to read schematics accurately and perform complex mechanical systems repair including electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools and performing heavy lifting safely.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members.
- Certifications or training in automotive electrical systems repair, air brake systems, HVAC servicing or welding is a plus but not mandatory.
