Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

$75,000–$90,000/year + up to 10% annual bonus based on performance and contribution to project success
Signature Projects is a fast-growing commercial construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects for our clients across Arizona. We're looking for a Project Engineer with at least 1–2 years of experience as the lead PE on commercial construction projects to join our team.

What You'll Do
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and construction documents, with a strong ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
- Assist with procurement and material tracking
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and the internal project team
- Track and support project schedules, budgets, and change orders to ensure alignment with key milestones and deadlines
- Maintain current and accurate project documentation in Procore
- Participate in jobsite meetings and assist with punch lists and closeout documentation
- Support communication between the office and field to keep the team aligned on project goals
- Track quality, safety documentation, and compliance requirements
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify risks or delays and drive timely resolutions
- Support the preconstruction team with bid preparation and estimating on new project pursuits
- Solicit, gather, and manage subcontractor bids to ensure competitive and complete pricing coverage
- Review plans and specifications to help develop accurate scopes and identify potential risks during the bid phase
- Follow up with subcontractors and vendors to keep bid deadlines on track
- Assist in preparing proposal documents and qualification packages
- Bring a proactive, solutions-driven mindset to help move projects forward
- Step in across the team when needed to support both active projects and new pursuits
What We're Looking For (Required)
- Extremely proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications- this is a non-negotiable requirement for this role
- Highly proficient in Procore- active daily use on commercial projects required
- Minimum 1–2 years as a Project Engineer on commercial construction projects
- Proficiency managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction schedules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across active projects and bid pursuits
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a fast-moving team
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Signature Projects does not offer visa sponsorship or immigration support of any kind.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience supporting estimating, preconstruction, or bid management
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience on senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or other renovation-heavy commercial projects
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
