- Transport patients after GI/Endo procedures
- Department hours are Monday - Friday - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- No weekends or nights
- Must be abel to train for 2-3 weeks -3 days per week
- PRN = work at least 2 shifts every 6 weeks or fill in as needed during high volume days
Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. The Endoscopy department at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a highly specialized, full-service department meeting the needs of inpatient and outpatient clients. The lab specializes in Upper Endoscopy (EGD), Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Small bowel enteroscopy (SBE), and Video capsule endoscopy. The endoscopy staff consists of a NP, RN¿s and technicians who are overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The Patient Transporter transports patients and/or items such as lab specimens and x-ray films to and from patient rooms and ancillary areas in a timely manner. Provides an acceptable flow of customer and miscellaneous items to and from different treatment areas, physician's offices, and other areas throughout the medical complex.
Responsibilities
- Transports and lifts non-ambulatory patients, x-rays, medical records, specimens, and other special deliveries throughout hospital campus. Pays close attention to patient safety protocols.
- Keeps equipment clean and functional.
- Completes assigned tasks within department expectations.

- High School Diploma or GED
