American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WI or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of strong ED experience.

Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center setility with

24-bed ED with plus 5 IR overflow beds and 20+ hallway beds

Average 90 toED patients per day, up to 110 during peak times

Patient population includes 50% adult, 25% geriatric, 15% pediatric, and 10% behavioral health cases
-
Handles trauma, cardiac (STEMI, CHF), neuro (stroke), respiratory, RSV, COPD), CHF), heart failure), and behavioral health/psychiatric presentations
-
Patient ratios are 1:3 on routine days (flexing to 4-5 during high census) and 1:2 for critical care patients
-
Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication system

Telemetry monitoring available at bedside and nursing station

Rare floating to assist other units with hard IV sticks only, never a full patient assignment outside the ED

Skilled in stroke care, trauma management, splinting, pediatric care, chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and central line management

First-time travelers considered if candidate has EPIC EMR experience

EPIC EMR experience required

supportions strong support team including ED techs, triage nurse, charge nurse, case manager, physical therapy, phlebotomy, intake counselor, public safety, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, house supervisor, and a trained forensic team

Fast-paced, high-acuity environment with approximately 25% utilization rate

Orientation includes login access setup, online modules, hospital tour, and EPIC training on day one, followed by unit orientation on days two and three based on comfort level

Scrubs may be any professional color

Must be available to work 2 holidays (nights work the eve of the holiday; days work the holiday itself)

Schedules provided 4 weeks at a time with 2 weeks advance notice

Time off requests up to 7 days can be approved directly, with additional requests requiring nurse manager approval

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions

Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible for this travel assignment
