Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the establishment, ensuring that all aspects of the business run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on customer service, and the ability to manage a diverse team. The General Manager will develop strategies to enhance productivity, improve service quality, and maintain high standards in food safety and hospitality.
Duties
- Lead and manage all operational aspects of the business, including staff management, customer service, and food handling.
- Oversee shift management to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and maintain consistent service levels.
- Implement company training programs for staff to enhance their skills in food service and hospitality management.
- Coordinate catering services and special events to meet customer needs while maximizing profitability.
- Conduct interviews and hire qualified personnel to build a strong team.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering processes to ensure adequate stock for operations.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Skills
- Proven experience in team management with a focus on leadership and motivation.
- Strong background in food service operations, including knowledge of food handling regulations.
- Experience in shift management to ensure operational efficiency during busy periods.

Schedule
- A GM's schedule is fluid based on the demand of the business, company meetings, and special events. Typically starting out, a GM will work Wednesdays through Sundays during the first 90 days and then move to a flex schedule once all administrative duties are assumed. The average General Manager works 45 to 50 hours a week.
- A day in the life of a GM ranges from completing administrative work to working the floor to providing coaching and feedback to staff.
