Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and strengthen our food quality and safety programs. The role is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems across dairy and frozen food operations to ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations, customer specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, lead audits and investigations, and cultivate a culture of food safety and quality throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC/IFS or equivalent) for dairy and frozen food production lines.

Ensure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations and maintain up-to-date documentation and records for inspections and audits.

Lead internal and external audits, interact with regulatory authorities and support customer audits and third-party certifications.

Develop, monitor and report quality KPIs, conduct data analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on root cause investigations.

Oversee supplier quality management, including supplier approvals, audits, and incoming material inspections.

Manage product release processes, lot traceability, retention sampling, and deviation/recall procedures when required.

Coordinate laboratory testing programs and collaborate with labs on microbiological, chemical and physical analyses.

Provide training and coaching to production and quality teams on food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Partner with operations, R&D and supply chain teams to support new product introductions, process changes and continuous improvement projects.

Lead cross-functional investigations into quality incidents, drive containment and resolution, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of progressive quality management experience in food manufacturing; prior experience in dairy and frozen food environments strongly preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of FDA and USDA regulatory requirements and experience managing regulatory inspections.

Hands-on experience with HACCP, GMPs, sanitation programs and recognized food safety schemes (SQF, BRC, IFS or equivalent).

Proven track record leading internal and supplier audits, root cause analysis, and CAPA systems.

Familiarity with microbiological and chemical testing methods, laboratory oversight and interpretation of results.

Strong analytical skills, experience with quality metrics and statistical process control tools.

Excellent leadership, communication and training skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Experience with ERP/QMS software and document control systems; ISO 9001 experience is a plus.

Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites and supplier locations as needed.
