We are seeking an experienced RF Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team and lead the design, integration, optimization, and certification of next-generation wireless products. This role focuses on integrating Qualcomm and MediaTek 5G/LTE cellular modules into custom embedded hardware while optimizing RF performance for production-ready products.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on RF design experience, enjoys solving challenging wireless problems, and is comfortable taking products from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Integrate Qualcomm and MediaTek 5G/LTE modules into custom embedded hardware designs
- Design, simulate, and optimize RF matching networks
- Select, integrate, and validate cellular, GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth antennas
- Perform RF tuning and optimize antenna performance, including TRP and TIS
- Debug RF performance issues during prototype bring-up and manufacturing
- Design RF PCB layouts for frequencies up to 6 GHz (mmWave experience is a plus)
- Support RF calibration and manufacturing test development
- Prepare products for FCC, CE, PTCRB, and carrier certification
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams
- Support contract manufacturers through EVT, DVT, and PVT builds
- Document RF designs, validation procedures, and test results
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of RF hardware design experience
- Experience integrating Qualcomm or MediaTek 5G/LTE cellular modules into embedded products
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including:
- Impedance matching
- Transmission lines
- Smith Charts
- S-Parameters
- VSWR
- Return Loss
- Experience designing antenna matching networks
- Experience with RF PCB layout for frequencies up to 6 GHz
- Familiarity with cellular (5G/LTE), GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth antenna integration
- Hands-on experience using:
- Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
- Spectrum Analyzer
- RF Signal Generator
- Oscilloscope
- Ability to tune antennas and optimize RF performance (TRP/TIS)
- Experience with RF simulation software such as ADS, HFSS, or CST
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation and shielding techniques
- Experience supporting FCC, CE, PTCRB, and carrier certification
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for RF hardware during prototype and production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Qualcomm or MediaTek cellular chipsets and modules
- Familiarity with Qualcomm development tools including:
- QXDM
- QPST
- QCAT
- Experience designing MIMO antenna systems
- GNSS antenna integration experience
- Python programming for RF test automation
- Experience working with contract manufacturers through EVT, DVT, and PVT production phases
- Experience with mmWave antenna design and testing
