Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings, adhering to local electrical codes and the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and schematics to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct high-voltage wiring work safely on industrial electrical systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 standards for electrical safety.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations, repairs, and upgrades efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues across low voltage and high voltage systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation.
- Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety procedures during all phases of work while ensuring the safety of team members and clients.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Document work performed through detailed reports, including inspection logs and system diagrams for future reference or compliance audits.
Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician with strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and commercial electrical wiring practices.
- Extensive background in residential/commercial electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for safe electrical work practices.
- Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints for accurate project execution.
- Ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and circuit testers.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and high-voltage wiring in industrial settings.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes to ensure all work complies with legal standards for safety and quality.
- Strong hand tool proficiency along with power tools necessary for complex installations or repairs.
- Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds across residential or commercial sectors.
