Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Autism Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. In this role, you will provide tailored behavioral interventions, support development of individualized care plans, and assist families in implementing effective strategies to promote growth and independence. Your expertise will help foster positive behavioral health outcomes while ensuring compliance with ethical standards and privacy regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children in home-based settings, applying evidence-based practices such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support their unique needs.
Duties
- Implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility support
- Collect and analyze data on behavioral progress to inform treatment adjustments and ensure treatment fidelity
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans aligned with each child's goals
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and professional standards
- Provide training and support to caregivers on behavior management techniques and strategies for supporting autism spectrum disorders support at home
- Ensure ethical compliance by adhering to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts during all service delivery
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Strong background in special education, teaching, or behavioral therapy methods such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior management strategies effectively
- Home-based behavioral experience is highly desirable
- Excellent data collection skills coupled with a detail-oriented approach to tracking progress
- Compassionate attitude towards children and families, demonstrating patience and professionalism at all times
