Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, piping, fondant, and other decorative techniques to meet customer specifications and company standards
- Prepare and assemble cakes, including layering, filling, and finishing touches that ensure visual appeal and taste excellence
- Handle food preparation tasks such as mixing ingredients, baking, and assembling pastry items in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Package finished products carefully for delivery or display, ensuring presentation quality and product integrity during transport
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station, adhering to all food handling and safety protocols
- Assist with basic kitchen tasks related to food production and catering events as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing customization options and ensuring customer satisfaction with finished products
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or related culinary fields with a strong portfolio of decorated baked goods
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Skilled in various decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and edible embellishments
- Familiarity with baking processes, food preparation, and general kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Strong knife skills for precise cake trimming and ingredient preparation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills combined with a friendly attitude to deliver outstanding customer service
