Wedgewood Family Practice, an affiliate of Mon Health, is looking to fill a per diem Nurse Practitioner position. The Nurse Practitioner could provide services as needed at all three Wedgewood locations: Mon Health Medical Park, Cheat Lake and Gateway. While location hours may vary, hours of need are generally afternoon hours until 9pm and weekends from 9a-6p.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her given specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff office. The NP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The NP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The NP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
The NP shall work under the supervision of a physician
Education Requirements: Graduate of a master’s prepared Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience Requirements: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Current license as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must be credentialed according to Mon Health’s Medical Staff bylaws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification.
