Development Director (Part-Time) Position Summary
Kids From Wisconsin, a mission-driven nonprofit organization serving youth through arts, education, and leadership programming, is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Development Director to support fundraising, grants management, donor communications, and other non-profit business operations. This part-time hybrid position is ideal for an early-career nonprofit professional looking to grow in development and non-profit business operations, or for an experienced/semi-retired professional seeking meaningful, flexible work. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, detail-oriented project manager, and relationship-centered team member who enjoys supporting both the mission and the day-to-day operations that help nonprofit programs thrive. The Development Director will play an important role in sustaining and growing the organization’s fundraising efforts while also providing operational and administrative support across the organization as needed.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week
- Hybrid work environment
- Hourly, non-exempt position
- Compensation commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
- Coordinate annual fundraising activities and donor communications
- Support donor cultivation, acknowledgment, and stewardship efforts
- Manage donor records and campaigns within Givebutter and related systems
- Assist with sponsorship outreach and fundraising initiatives
- Support event fundraising logistics and communications as needed
- Create fundraising and donor materials including newsletters, appeals, and campaign content
- Assist in developing and producing the organization’s annual report
Grants Management
- Research and evaluate grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, applications, and supporting materials
- Track grant deadlines, requirements, and reporting schedules
- Coordinate grant reporting and outcomes documentation in collaboration with organizational leadership
- Maintain organized grant records and supporting documentation
Operations & Administrative Support
- Provide organizational and administrative support to leadership and organizational operations
- Assist with budgeting support, invoice tracking, and financial documentation as needed
- Support basic accounts payable/accounts receivable processes and coordination with bookkeeping systems
- Help maintain organizational systems, files, and operational workflows
- Assist with communications and project coordination across programs and events
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will bring many, though not necessarily all, of the following:
- Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, administration, or related work
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfort working collaboratively in a small-team environment
- Experience with or willingness to learn: QuickBooks Online, Givebutter, Canva, Constant Contact and Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Interest in youth development, arts education, and community impact
Preferred but not required:
- Grant writing experience
- Experience supporting nonprofit financial or operational processes
- Experience working with donor databases or CRM systems
