Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Loader to join our transportation and warehouse operations team. The successful candidate will assist with daily freight handling activities, including loading and unloading shipments, organizing materials, preparing cargo for transportation, and supporting smooth warehouse operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, prioritize safety, and take pride in maintaining efficient logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight, packages, equipment, and materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
- Organize, stack, and secure cargo to ensure shipments are prepared properly for transportation.
- Inspect freight while handling materials and report damaged items or shipment issues when identified.
- Work closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, and operations teams to support efficient delivery schedules.
- Keep loading docks, warehouse areas, and workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and general warehouse tasks as needed.
- Perform additional operational duties to support daily transportation and logistics activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, freight handling, warehousing, or a similar position is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work in warehouse, loading dock, and outdoor environments when necessary.
