Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Orthodontist to join our healthcare team in to serve with the U.S. Military. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, clinical examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced medical imaging techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for orthodontic cases, including braces, aligners, retainers, and other corrective appliances.
- Perform orthodontic procedures such as bracket placement, adjustments, and removal with precision and aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care involving pediatrics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and anesthesiology when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for charting, scheduling, billing, and treatment documentation.
- Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and post-treatment care to promote optimal outcomes.
- Manage dental fabrication processes for appliances and restorations ensuring quality control.
- Stay current with advancements in orthodontics through continuing education and professional development.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Orthodontist with a minimum of three years practicing in a clinical setting; experience within a military or government healthcare environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental diagnosis techniques, and medical terminology related to oral health.
- Familiarity with general dentistry procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, dental implants, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques applicable in dental clinics.
- Experience performing complex orthodontic treatments involving appliances like braces or clear aligners.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations across age groups including pediatrics.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with state healthcare regulations governing military medical facilities.
- Skilled in client communication to explain diagnoses and treatment plans clearly while fostering trust.

Pay: $1.00 - $300,000.00 per year
