Overview
Our adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor (Must hold an active Virginia CSAC, LPC, LCSW-C, or Resident Counselor ) to provide high-quality substance use treatment in a collaborative, clinically supportive environment.
We are actively sourcing for both part-time and full-time positions with varying availability requirements, ideal for a counselor who is motivated, engaged, and eager to be an active part of a growing program. We are looking for someone who brings both clinical skill and initiative—someone who is reliable, invested in their work, and passionate about supporting individuals in recovery.
This position offers free clinical supervision, competitive pay and benefits, and the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to ethical, client-centered care.
Schedule:
- Full-Time 9am-5pm
- Part-Time 9am-2pm
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized, recovery-oriented treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches
- Facilitate IOP group therapy focused on coping skills, relapse prevention, and life skills
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide holistic, coordinated care
- Participate in clinical meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications & Experience
- Active Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC, LPC, LCSW-C, or Resident Counselor status) credential required
- Experience working with adults with substance use disorders preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, organization, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional boundaries
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based treatment model
- Experience in an IOP, outpatient, or residential setting is a plus

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
