The purpose of this position is to lead the daily activities of the mobile unit and provide the normal maintenance activities required for a NEP mobile unit to meet client requirements and operate up to NEP standards.
Serve as the primary on-site technical authority and client point of contact, communicating technical risks, changes, and solutions clearly and professionally.
Lead show builds and live production execution, including system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, live operations support, and teardown.
Collaborate with engineering leadership, operations teams, coordinators, and clients to meet technical and production requirements.
Coordinate equipment, staffing, and logistics with Mobile Unit Coordinators, Field Shop, and maintenance teams.
Support mobile unit builds, upgrades, repairs, and system improvements in partnership with engineering leadership.
Ensure effective maintenance and asset management, including preventative maintenance, inventory tracking, and repair workflows.
Technical degree preferred (Electronics, Engineering, or related field), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven Engineer in Charge-level leadership, with the ability to supervise technical teams, coordinate projects, and execute complex live productions in high-pressure/live production environments.
Strong hands-on proficiency across core broadcast systems, including video, audio, graphics, cameras, routing, intercoms, and IP-based workflows.
Deep foundational knowledge Layer 2/3 networking (TCP/IP, multicast, VLANs, QoS, bandwidth management) and mission-critical broadcast troubleshooting.
Advanced system-level troubleshooting ability across router control systems, video switchers, audio consoles, EVS networks, intercoms, and other networked broadcast equipment.
High-level experience with broadcast control and infrastructure systems, including Magnum, VSM, Cerebrum, or TFC.
In-depth knowledge of all EVS gear (XT-VIA, VIA Remotes, IPDirector, XFile, and XTA)
Strong audio console proficiency, particularly with Calrec platforms (Apollo, Artemis, Argo Q, Summa, and Brio).
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in fast-paced live environments.
