Job Title: OTR Box Truck Driver (Class C)Position Overview
Our logistics team is looking for a reliable, self-motivated Class C Driver for long-haul, Over-the-Road (OTR) routes. In this role, you will navigate a box truck across multiple states, ensuring our cargo reaches its destination safely and on schedule. We are looking for someone who takes pride in excellent customer service, maintains clear communication with our dispatch team, and handles loading operations with care. Key Responsibilities
- Interstate Transport: Safely operate a Class C box truck over long distances while strictly following traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Cargo Management: Load and unload freight using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual lifting, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage.
- Route Optimization: Plan out efficient travel paths to guarantee on-time arrivals and manage fuel consumption effectively.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical needs immediately.
- Customer & Dispatch Communication: Maintain proactive updates with dispatch regarding delivery timelines or delays, and provide professional service directly to clients at delivery points.
- Records Tracking: Keep accurate, up-to-date logs of your routes, completed deliveries, and any on-road incidents.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving history.
- Experience: Proven background in commercial driving, regional/OTR delivery, or courier services. Experience driving manual transmission box trucks is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical labor tied to loading and unloading freight.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse logistics, safety protocols, and standard loading equipment (forklifts/pallet jacks).
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
Onboarding & Application Requirements
- Next Steps After Applying: Candidates moving forward in the hiring process must submit copies of their Driver's License (DL), Medical Certificate (MedCert), and a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Equipment Pickup: You must be able to arrive at our facility in Glenview, IL to pick up your assigned truck/unit.
- Escrow: Please note that a $1,500 escrow hold is required for this position.
Pay: $1,000.00 - $3,000.00 per week
