The biochemistry division is seeking a biochemist to work on in-house development projects related to production of carbohydrate related enzymes, carbohydrate-based pharmaceuticals and glycoproteins vaccines. The individual in this position will also work as a member of the production team responsible for a diverse line of products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare formulations of glycobiology, proteomics and protein expression products.
- Perform standard QC protocols and assist in the development of new QC assays.
- Coordinate and fulfill custom orders.
- Adhere to protocols and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist technical inquiries about glycobiology, proteomics and protein expression.
- Create supporting literature and marketing materials for glycobiology products.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the life science industry.
- Knowledge of protein purification.
- Knowledge of protein science, proteomics and/or glycobiology.
- Experience with standard proteomics applications (i.e. HPLC, MS, SDS-PAGE).
- Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Self-starter who requires a minimum of training and direction.
- Proven “good hands” at the bench.
