Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Staff- to Project-Level Environmental Engineer with a minimum of one year of environmental consulting experience to support environmental assessment and remediation projects throughout Florida. Experience with the Florida DEP Petroleum Restoration Program is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with environmental fieldwork, technical reporting, site assessment, and/or remediation activities.
This position provides an opportunity to expand technical and project management skills while working closely with experienced engineers, geologists, and scientists on assessment, remediation, permitting, and compliance projects. The position requires periodic travel and overnight stays throughout Florida.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist with Remedial Action Plans, Site Assessment Reports, O&M reports, and other technical deliverables, including tables and figures.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of remediation systems, including AS/SVE and other remedial technologies.
- Conduct and oversee environmental field activities, including soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, pilot testing, and remediation system O&M.
- Prepare Pilot Study Plans and Reports and conduct/oversee pilot testing.
- Compile, analyze, and evaluate environmental data to support technical reporting and remedial decisions.
- Assist with remedial construction, system installation, startup, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Prepare and support FDOT ROW, NPDES, SPCC, SWPPP and other environmental permits.
- Coordinate with senior staff, geologists, scientists, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory personnel.
- Perform other related environmental consulting and engineering duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum one year of professional environmental consulting experience.
- Hands-on environmental field experience, including soil and/or groundwater sampling.
- Working knowledge of environmental site assessment, remediation, and applicable environmental regulations.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently in the field and effectively with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
- Willingness to travel throughout Florida and perform a variety of field activities, including occasional overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
