We are seeking a motivated and dependable Open/Closer to join our dynamic food service team! In this role, you will be responsible for opening and closing the establishment efficiently, ensuring all operations run smoothly from start to finish. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment for customers while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. Responsibilities
- Prepare the café or restaurant for daily operations by setting up equipment, supplies, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Greet customers warmly during opening shifts, take orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and provide excellent customer service.
- Handle food preparation tasks with precision, following food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Manage cash handling duties including cashiering, processing transactions efficiently, and balancing registers at close using POS systems.
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to increase sales while delivering a memorable dining experience.
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, cleaning food prep areas, and ensuring the restaurant remains tidy during your shift.
- Close the establishment by securing all areas, completing end-of-day reports, reconciling cash drawers, and preparing the space for the next day’s operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurants with knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks swiftly during busy hours.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math understanding, and accurate order processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in food preparation and cleanliness standards.
- Previous restaurant experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued.
