Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Apprentice to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational skills in carpentry and construction while working alongside experienced professionals. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will assist with various aspects of residential and commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience in building, remodeling, and restoration tasks. This paid position is ideal for individuals eager to learn the trade, contribute to quality craftsmanship, and grow within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to support project execution.
- Support framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, siding, and fixture installation tasks on residential and commercial sites.
- Participate in the installation of wood construction materials such as flooring, drywall, stucco, metal studs, and roofing components.
- Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, plastering, and water damage restoration projects as needed.
- Follow safety protocols related to power tool safety, heavy lifting, scaffolding use, and general construction site safety practices.
- Contribute to site cleanup, material handling—including heavy lifting—and ensure all work complies with safety standards and project specifications.
Experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction estimating or blueprint reading is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools for woodworking is advantageous.
- Exposure to residential carpentry or general construction site experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Experience with woodworking machines or wood fabrication processes will be beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings or schematics is helpful but can be developed on the job.
- Previous involvement in remodeling projects or restoration industry experience enhances candidacy but is not essential.
- Candidates should possess a strong work ethic with willingness to learn new skills in carpentry disciplines such as metal stud framing, cabinetry, flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, electrical work, or masonry.
