Wedgewood Sports Lounge is a new upscale sports bar concept coming to WeHo. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our opening culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. This pivotal role combines hands-on food preparation with strategic management to ensure exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient shift management and team coordination
- Utalize modern cooking techniques that elivate the concept of what upscale bar food truly means
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
- Aid the Culinary Director in BOH scheduling
- Aid the Culinary Director with menu engenering
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas
- Monitor food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with health codes and safety protocols
- Support the training and development of kitchen staff to enhance skills in food preparation, cooking, and service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in diverse culinary backgrounds with strong skills and leadership capabilities
- Extensive supervising experience within a busy restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety, inventory management, and catering operations
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
- Expertise in menu planning, food production, and kitchen management practices
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems, inventory control tools, and food handling regulations
- Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for hospitality and customer service excellence
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
