Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to meet their needs and enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of merchandise
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure the store remains attractive and organized
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to increase sales
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures and perform cashier duties with attention to detail
- Supervise team members in the absence of management, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent service delivery
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors
- Support inventory management by conducting stock counts and replenishing shelves as needed
- Engage in basic retail math for sales calculations, discounts, and inventory tracking
- Promote a positive shopping environment through effective communication skills and teamwork
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience is preferred, especially in gift stores or similar environments
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership roles within the store
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette are essential for engaging with customers and team members
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, upselling, and product demos will help you excel in this role
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate transactions and inventory management
